How to transcribe Mongolian MP3 and WAV recordings
A practical guide to Mongolian audio-file transcription: prepare MP3 or WAV recordings, estimate prepaid credits, and review names, numbers and speakers.
You can upload a saved MP3 or WAV recording to the Duudlaga website for Mongolian transcription. Website file transcription uses separate prepaid credits at ₮70 per minute. It is not included in Flow Pro's unlimited dictation, and it is not a file-upload feature inside the desktop dictation app.
This workflow fits recorded interviews, lectures and meetings. Start by checking the original audio, then review the generated text before using it as a quotation or a record of decisions.
Choose the right workflow
- Speak and insert text now: use the Flow desktop dictation app.
- Process an existing audio file: use website file transcription.
- Bring a notetaker into an online meeting: use Duudlaga Meeting, subject to platform configuration and host admission.
The Flow versus Meeting guide explains these distinctions. A subscription to one product does not make every kind of audio processing free.
Prepare the recording
Keep an unchanged copy of the original file. Play the opening, a middle section and the end. Check that all speakers are audible and that the file is the recording you intended to process.
Renaming a file extension does not convert its audio format: changing a filename from .m4a to .wav does not create a WAV recording. If you need a different format, export or convert a copy with a tool that actually supports the source format.
Avoid repeatedly compressing an already compressed recording. If you use noise reduction, compare the same passage before and after editing. An aggressive setting may remove parts of quiet words along with the background sound. Select the version that preserves understandable speech, rather than the one that merely sounds quieter.
Before processing someone else's speech, agree how the recording and transcript will be used and shared. Read the service's privacy policy for its processing terms.
Upload and review, step by step
- Sign in on the Duudlaga website and open the file-transcription section.
- Check the formats and file-size limit displayed by the uploader. These limits can change as the service evolves.
- Select the MP3 or WAV recording and check the required credits against your available balance.
- Start processing and follow the job status. Check an existing job before submitting the same recording again.
- Review the completed transcript against the original audio.
- Move the corrected text into your working document and check the intended audience before sharing it.
For a long or difficult recording, consider testing a representative short excerpt first. A clean introduction may not reveal the problems in a noisy group discussion later in the file. Choose a sample that includes the speech conditions you actually need to handle.
Estimate the cost
As of September 6, 2026, website file transcription is ₮70 per audio minute. An exactly 30-minute recording gives a simple base calculation of 30 × ₮70 = ₮2,100. This is an illustration, not a quotation for every file: check the duration and credit amount shown before starting a paid operation. Refer to the current pricing page for the applicable terms.
File credits remain separate even if you have Flow Pro. Developer API usage also has its own pricing and balance; do not apply the website's per-minute figure to an API integration.
What to check in the transcript
Names: Listen again when a person's or organization's name appears. A plausible common word may have replaced an unfamiliar name.
Numbers and dates: Verify thousands, millions, percentages and deadlines. Correct surrounding prose does not make the central figure correct.
Speakers: Check whether a passage belongs to the person indicated. An automatic speaker label is not verified identity.
Negation and uncertainty: “Not approved” and “approved” have opposite meanings. “Might” should not disappear from a tentative commitment.
The Mongolian transcript review checklist provides a repeatable process. If the recording is a meeting, use the corrected transcript to fill a meeting minutes template.
Common questions
Will a noisy recording always transcribe correctly?
No. Overlapping speech, distant microphones, background sound and clipped words can reduce transcription quality. Recording conditions and human review both matter.
Does transcription automatically produce approved minutes?
No. A transcript is source material. Confirm decisions, owners and deadlines before treating a summary or set of minutes as an approved record.
